About Us

One day, when eleven-year-old Calista came home from school, Mom asked her how her day had gone.

Calista told Mom, "My posse's all messed up."

Mom laughed, because she didn't expect her daughter to use the word posse to describe a circle of sixth-grade friends. Mom said, "What do you mean?"

"Some members of the posse are talking behind the other member's backs. And they won't let certain people  join. It just doesn't feel right," said Calista.

"What are you going to do?" asked Mom.

"I'm going to quit the posse," said Calista. "But then what if I don't have any friends?"

Mom thought for a minute. "What if you formed your own posse?" she asked. "Your posse could be all inclusive and you could focus your posse on kindness. You could call it the Rainbow," she paused, "Unicorn... Posse of Love. And it could be all about showing love and kindness to others."

Calista got excited. "Yeah! I'm gonna do it!"

And the Rainbow Unicorn Posse of Love was born.

We have since made the posse a family project.
